Creating a Fire Tornado with a Fog Monster

We were creating a 3d model of a Fire Tornado as part of our Storm FX series for kickstarter 2 and figured why not make a real one using the Fog Monster to add some realism to the twister. Check out the result! Nice to know there are always new tricks you can do with your Fog Monster.

Welcome to our Kickstarter 2 teaser "Monsters of Nature"
Last Kickstarter you helped us to create the Fog Monster. This time we are bringing together more of nature's powerful monsters for the most immersive experience possible. Among them is the Fog Monsters close cousin, Steam Glorious Steam.
The "Black Horn Mountain" New steaming Volcano
Our new steam is not hot steam, it's steam that is cool to the touch. The advantage being that this "cool" steam has all the same visual effects as smoke but without the condensation on the game pieces. You will have to see it to believe it. We have created a plethora of special props to take advantage of the new Steam FX system. We cant wait to show them so stay tuned as they will be revealed soon.

Kickstarter 2 Poll Results and a Sneak Peek Video Teaser

Last week we asked you to take a poll and try and guess what our KS2 was going to feature, and the results were amazing. Either we have a mole at RGFX or some of you are psychic!
If you picked "Storm FX" you were correct! By far the majority of you did indeed pick Storm FX though we have not revealed that to anyone. Well there was one, hmmm....
But actually, we played a little trick, because if you picked any of the entries you were correct (except for of course world peace, sorry)! We have actually been prototyping all of the new FX below in order.
1. Steam FX
2. Storm FX
3. Laser FX
4. Portal FX
5. Misty Mountain (Fog Monster 2)
6. Audio FX (you will see a little in the sneak peek video below)
7. Tower of Power
How many of these make it into the our KS2 will really be up to the backers. We just wanted you to know we are getting ready to deliver our next level of real world FX for tabletop gaming.
We will make an announcement as soon as we are ready, in the meantime since most of you picked "Storm FX" we made some quick real-time footage last night using one Fog Monster and one of our new Audio Storm Clouds. This is all early prototype wip.
(PS, The character in the video is the "Storm Bringer" our first unique 28mm figure and will be available in the KS. It is still a wip but more on our that later :))
Taking a moment to come up for air and announce that we have been busy in our secret laboratory quietly creating the quintessential Kickstarter. (Whew, that's a mouthful!)

We are also taking this time to address the buzz around our Wireless Game Platform. Thank you for all your inquiries! We are happy to say it has been fully tested and we are working with a major miniature game terrain manufacturer to design all the game pieces. (we have seen a sneak preview and they look awesome!) Note the wireless game platform will not be KS 2. The Wireless Game Platform will be our KS3 later in 2019 once all the game terrain is complete.
In the meantime, we look forward to seeing you again in KS2, have no fear, we believe KS2 will not disappoint!

Special thanks to Dwarven Forge for allowing us to use their most excellent photography scenes with Fog Monster Fog in the Caverns Deep project. Nate's talent for creating compelling miniature scenes is hard to beat. The exquisite detail on the Dwarven forge pieces up close is incredible. (especially with that creeping crawling fog ;)

KS2 2019
As we hoped this first KS project has lead to bigger and better things. We hope to share some very exciting news of new partnerships we have formed for our 2019 project. We have been burning the candle at both ends in preparation for it and all we can say it looks like it is going to be spectacular, especially if we are able to fit everything in in time. Rather than say what it is now we will wait until it is all official and kick it off hopefully in January - February 2019.
